Profile

Technical depth.
Process discipline.

Five years across tendering, cost estimation, technical submittals, engineering operations, and continuous improvement.

I connect technical detail with the cost, planning, and process decisions that move a project forward.

I am a PMP®-certified Mechanical Engineer and Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. My work sits where technical detail meets commercial decisions: reviewing BOQs and specifications, raising clarifications, selecting compliant products, building BOMs and cost estimates, and preparing submittals and prequalification packages.

My discipline is HVAC; the method of scope, quantities, compliance, cost, and risk is the same across MEP packages. Alongside estimation, I manage and improve the processes behind it, from leading an 18-member team to redesigning workflows and replacing manual reporting with Power BI.

Selected work

Proof of practice

Each piece of work is described by the problem, what I did, and the result I can stand behind.

Internal system · Daily use

QuoteAI: an ERP for HVAC estimation and delivery

Costing, BOMs, quotations, and project follow-up lived in separate files. I designed and built one internal system where each quotation traces back to its product, rules, and cost basis, and forward to the work order.

  • 16 modules, from leads and quotations to production, QC, and invoices
  • 15 user roles with a permission matrix, including who can see pricing
  • Used locally for daily estimation work

Workflow design · Automation

AI-assisted BOQ-to-quotation workflow

BOQs arrive as Excel, PDF, Word, and scanned files in Arabic and English. I split the work into stages and used AI where it helps, with engineer review kept in the loop.

  1. BOQ received, any format or language
  2. AI extracts line items and quantities
  3. Items mapped to products, then engineer review
  4. BOM and costing built from mapped items
  5. Quotation ready for technical and commercial review

Power BI · Operations reporting

Operational visibility dashboards

Management reports were compiled by hand every week. I defined the KPIs and built one dashboard per stream: requests, work orders, quotations, workload, performance, and management summary.

  • 6 Power BI dashboards used for management reporting
  • Approximately 8 hours a week of manual reporting replaced

For scale: the team handled approximately 9,500 customer service requests, 2,000 work orders, and 500 quotations per year.

HVAC engineering · Technical delivery

Product selection and compliance

More than 200 technical proposals across Egypt and the GCC: product selection, submittals, and compliance documentation, with acoustic path analysis for sound attenuators.

  • Air outlets, grilles, dampers, VAV boxes, louvers, ductwork, attenuators
  • SMACNA, ASHRAE 70, AHRI, AHRI 885, AMCA 500, UL 555 / 555S

Redesigning request and work-order workflows

Requests, work orders, and quotations passed through many hand-offs. It was hard to see where time was lost to waiting, rework, or missing information.

  1. 1

    Map

Mapped the current-state value stream step by step, separating working time from waiting time.

  2. 2

    Prioritize

Used Pareto analysis to find the few reasons behind most returned quotations.

  3. 3

    Find causes

Applied root cause analysis to critical issues and escalations, looking for process causes rather than blame.

  4. 4

    Redesign & track

Redesigned the workflows and made them visible through Power BI reporting.

Outcome 01

Redesigned workflows

Request and work-order flows rebuilt around the map and the Pareto findings.

Outcome 02

20+ critical issues resolved

Through cross-functional coordination and structured problem solving.

Outcome 03

3 schedule overruns mitigated

Through early intervention and resource reallocation.

QuoteAI is the internal ERP I designed and built for HVAC estimation. Follow one quotation through the real system: from the first question to the monthly report.

QuoteAI quotations list with references, customers, values, and statuses
Every quotation in one placeEach quotation carries a reference, customer, value, and status. Quick filters for draft, sent, approved, and stale quotes keep follow-up visible.
New quotation form with required project, customer, enquiry, and pricing fields
It starts with the right questionsBefore a BOQ is uploaded, the system asks for the project, customer, enquiry, and pricing settings, so no quotation starts with missing information.
Import items from BOQ file dialog accepting Excel, CSV, PDF, photo, or Word in English or Arabic
Adding items: drop in any BOQExcel, CSV, PDF, Word, or a photo, in English or Arabic. The AI reads the lines and appends them to the quotation; existing items are kept.
Quotation items auto-priced by section with AI confidence badges and subtotals
Auto pricing, with a confidence scoreEach line is matched to a product, sized, and priced from the library, grouped by section with subtotals. Strong matches show 97%; weaker ones are flagged for the engineer to verify, and unknown items stay TBC.
Product library with 56 products, Arabic names, pricing methods, and BOQ templates
The core: one product library56 products in 6 categories, each with English and Arabic names, a pricing method, and a BOQ description template, backed by 5,385 price records.
Validation and price rules database with 73 rules and size limits
Rules that stop wrong prices73 validation rules set size limits and oversize formulas, and decide when to reject, warn, or split an item. Pricing itself runs on 2,142 editable formulas.
Role and authority matrix with view, edit, delete, approve, export, see pricing, and revise rights
Who can see and do whatA role and authority matrix sets view, edit, delete, approve, export, see-pricing, and revise rights per module, for each of 15 roles.
System audit log listing user actions with timestamps and targets
Every action is loggedLogins, status changes, edits, and new quotations are recorded with the user, time, and target, giving a full trail for every document.
Live dashboard with pipeline value, won value, outstanding amounts, and quotations by status

Acoustic path analysis sheet by octave band with sound attenuator selection

Technical sample

Acoustic path analysis per AHRI 885

Each noise path is worked through by octave band: unit sound power, duct and elbow attenuation, end reflection, and room correction, giving the expected level in the space.

The gap to the room criterion sets the insertion loss needed, so each sound attenuator is sized to its path rather than chosen generically.
